SJB College Adopts Government School, Launches School Adoption Program

SJB College has launched a School Adoption Program, adopting Government Higher Secondary School (HSS) Nedumkunnam, in a bid to improve educational outcomes for school students. The program, conducted under the auspices of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), aims to enhance the numerical ability, language skills, arithmetic, arts and crafts, music, physical education, science skills, and knowledge of students who struggle to learn.

The event, titled “Giving Wings to Dreams,” aimed to provide academic and co-curricular support to the adopted school, fostering a collaborative environment for holistic development. Ms. Jayasree M.K., the Headmistress of Govt. H.S.S. Nedumkunnam, extended a warm welcome to all dignitaries, faculty, and students, highlighting the importance of the initiative in enhancing the quality of education and overall student development. Sri. Ravi Soman, the PTA President, presided over the event, expressing gratitude to SJB College for their efforts and underlining the transformative potential of the programme. The programme was officially inaugurated by Smt. Rajamma Raveendran, President of Nedumkunnam Panchayat. She emphasized the significance of collaboration between educational institutions for community upliftment and congratulated both the college and the school for this meaningful partnership. Dr. Fr. Jogimon George, Principal of SJB College of Education, provided a detailed overview of the programme. He outlined the objectives, planned activities, and long-term vision of the school adoption initiative, stressing its role in nurturing academic excellence and life skills among students. The event witnessed inspiring felicitation messages from Smt. Manju Rajeev, PTA Vice-President. Sri. Sinu Sebastian, Principal-in-Charge, Govt. H.S.S. Nedumkunnam. Both speakers lauded the programme’s collaborative spirit and assured their full support for its successful implementation. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Smt. Sheja James, Staff Secretary of SJB College of Education. She expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, staff, students, and stakeholders for their invaluable contributions to the programme. The School Adoption Programme reflects SJB College’s commitment to making a meaningful impact in the local community, ensuring quality education and holistic development for the students of Govt. H.S.S. Nedumkunnam.
