St. John the Baptist’s College of Education, in collaboration with the College Development Council (CDC) of MG University and St. John the Baptist’s College of Special Education, successfully hosted a high-profile two-day International Seminar on February 5th and 6th, 2026. The seminar, titled “Navigating the Challenges and Opportunities of Multidisciplinary Approach in Higher Education,” brought together global experts, policymakers, and educators to discuss the future of the 21st-century learning landscape. Expert Deliberations and Themes
The seminar featured four intensive technical sessions led by distinguished resource persons:
AI and Quality: Dr. B.S. Madhukar (Former Adviser, NAAC) explored the integration of Artificial Intelligence in maintaining quality within multidisciplinary frameworks.
Special Education: Dr. Carmel Conn (University of South Wales) presented a holistic approach to professional learning, specifically for teachers working with autistic learners.
Excellence in Education: Prof. Harry Cleetus (Former Principal, St. Albert’s College) discussed strategies for building excellence in modern education.
Theoretical Perspectives: Dr. Bethan Mitchell (University of South Wales) introduced Actor-network Theory (ANT) as a lens to trace multidisciplinary practices.
The seminar also provided a platform for researchers to present papers on sub-themes including NEP 2020 opportunities, sustainable practices, and inclusive education. Inaugural Ceremony

Dr. (Fr.) Jogimon George (Principal) delivered the Welcome Speech, followed by the Presidential Address by Rev. Fr. Antony Ethackadu (Manager).
The seminar was officially inaugurated by Adv. Reji Zachariah (Syndicate Member, M.G. University).
Dr. Gabriel Simon Thattil delivered a thought-provoking Keynote Address.
Felicitations were offered by Fr. Johnson Mathew, and the session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by the Seminar Convener, Prof. (Dr.) Lissy Koshi.
Valedictory Function

Prof. (Dr.) Mary Sheba Jose (Seminar Coordinator) welcomed the gathering.
The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. (Fr.) Jogimon George.
The Valedictory Address was rendered by the Chief Guest, Dr. N. Jayaraj (Honorable Chief Whip, Kerala Legislature), who highlighted the future of multidisciplinary studies.
Dr. Sujithran P. proposed the Vote of Thanks, and the program concluded with the National Anthem.
