Archdiocese of Changanacherry has always stood in the front arena of the field of education. It has started a number of schools and colleges and that too in a wide variety of areas.

St. John the Baptist’s College of Education was established in 1995 with a noble vision of carving out best teachers for the soceity who shall be ahapers of the destiny of the nation. His Grace mar Joseph Powathil is the source of inspiration behind this venture.

The college was established in the premises of S.B. Higher Secondary School Changanacherry and was shifted to the new building constructed in the land freely offered by St. John the Baptist’s Forane Church Nedumkunnam which supported the college in all its ventures.

The college is a self-financing Christian minority institution owned and managed by the Archdiocese of Changanacherry.

As a step towards accademic excellence, the college has started M.Ed. Course in 2007.
